Style of architecture Neoclassicism

Jablonná nad Vltavou, a chateau listed in the Cultural Heritage of the Czech Republic, is a typical example of a minor aristocracy seat or a summer residence. The chateau is not open to the public.

Jablonná nad Vltavou chateau was built on the site of an older water fortress from the 14th century. According to the exploration of the building and the paintings uncovered, the fortress was rebuilt into a Baroque chateau in the 18th century.

Count Jan Josef Kinský or Countess Marie Anna Harbuval-Chamaré were among the more important owners of the castle. Alterations in the second half of the 19th century gave the castle a neoclassical appearance. The cast-iron columns, wrought-iron railings and statues in the castle park date from the time of this last comprehensive reconstruction. These figurative sculptures, entitled The Luthier, The Hunter, Flora, Autumn and Winter, are the work of the German sculptor Möldner. The Jablonná nad Vltavou Castle, listed as a cultural monument of the Czech Republic, is a typical representative of a residence of the minor nobility or a summer residence.

In 2005 it was bought by ROYAL interier, which completely renovated the castle and placed its unique European exhibition of classic furniture and interior furnishings from renowned European companies, many of which use traditional production techniques. This unique project in Europe has been 4 years in the making. During the reconstruction, maximum emphasis was placed on preserving the original character of the building and the adjacent park with its statues.

The chateau building is part of a baroque complex consisting of the chateau building itself, an ash yard and an English-style park, which is decorated with the tallest giant hawthorn (Thuja plicata) in the Czech Republic.
